National University Golf Academy Military Appreciation Day

For the fifth consecutive year, The Cox Celebrity Championship hosted by Drew Brees will be hosting National University Golf Academy Military Appreciation Day presented by TriWest Healthcare Alliance on Sunday, May 23, 2010. Military Appreciation Day is a day dedicated to honoring not only our local heroes, but to all brave men and women serving at home and abroad. From Camp Pendleton to Coronado, the military’s strong presence has played a pivotal role in making San Diego, America’s Finest City. As a special “thank you,” all active or retired Military and their families are invited to enjoy free admission, with Military ID, all three days of the tournament including National
University Golf Academy Military Appreciation Day presented by TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Moreover, the first 1,500 military to REGISTER HERE will enjoy FREE lunch in an exclusive military tent and will receive a FREE haircut coupon courtesy of Sport Clips Haircuts.

Last year the tournament also welcomed 30 wounded warriors who enjoyed VIP treatment. Jerry Rice, Drew Brees, Tom Dreesen, Mark Rypien, Quentin Jammer, Phil Nevin, and Bruce Jenner all stopped by to take pictures, sign autographs and spend some time with the group.

The Cox Celebrity Championship hosted by Drew Brees has once again teamed up with The San Diego Armed Services YMCA, to help provide this event. The ASYMCA is a non-profit organization that assists military families by offering free family bonding and crisis programs. They serve over 6,000 active duty members and their families each month and are fully supported by community donatins and volunteers.
